Akina Fong Kin-yee is an experienced journalist. She graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Upon graduation, Akina joined the Radio Television Hong Kong as a Reporter and TV Producer. In 2004, she pursued her Master of International Studies at the University of Birmingham, and was selected to participate in an internship at the New York Headquarters of the United Nations.
With these overseas exposures, she joined the TVB as a senior reporter in 2006 and took the role as a news anchor in 2007. She was a regular anchor for the revamped week-night “News Roundup” – the highest rating news programme on TVB Jade.
Akina embarked on a fresh career at the Independent Commission Against
Corruption (ICAC) in April 2012 as Senior Press Information Officer. During her public relations career, she had contributed a plentiful of time on digital and social media platform. After concluding her employment contract in October 2014, Akina kicked off her new endeavor to engage in TV and radio programme hosting, teaching at various local universities as a part-time lecturer, joining consultancy company as senior consultant and joining a local leather workshop as senior designer to foster local cultural and artisan development.
